It’s tax time in the United States and if you’re like me, nothing is more stressful or frustrating. I’d rather clean toilets and ovens and bathtubs than do taxes. But the government takes a dim view of people who procrastinate to the point of not completing their taxes on time. You know, they do things like fine you, throw you in jail, execute you…. (Oh, wait! Perhaps they don’t go quite THAT far. But it SEEMS like it when taxes are looming over your head.)
So what’s a person to do?
Why, create something wonderful! That’s what. So today my challenge for you is that you grab a handful of colored papers, some scissors and pens and make a card for someone to cheer them up.
Cut several strips of coordinating papers, glue them in strips on the front, and add a plain white square (with a darker slightly larger square under it) on top of them with a greeting on it. For the inside, add another white square of paper and write a message on it. If you feel extra crafty, add a flower, a picture or other small embellishment to it.
Then take a few minutes to give or mail to that special someone. You will find your stress levels have dropped considerably and you’ll have made someone else feel good, too.
